The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program issued a total of 551 invitations to Skills Immigration, Express Entry and Entrepreneur candidates in a draw held on August 20, 2019.
This draw has issued the largest number of invitations in the history of the BC PNP since its inception in February 2017.
527 of the invitations were issued to candidates applying through the Skilled Worker and Express Entry BC categories, 18 were issued through the Entrepreneur Immigration Base Category and another six via the Entrepreneur Immigration Regional Pilot.
The Skills Immigration category is a stream for skilled and semi-skilled individuals whose occupations are in high demand in the province of British Colombia.
The Express Entry BC category is for candidates with a valid Express Entry profile in the federal pool of candidates. It is meant to streamline the process for those skilled workers that meet the B.C. criteria and who intend to reside in B.C.
BC PNP categories are managed under B.C.’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). In order to apply through the SIRS, eligible candidates are first required to register an account, then they are assigned a score based on factors like education, work experience and language proficiency.
