Hygiene Operator (returning)

This position is for returning employees who wish to join the hygiene team for the 2019-2020 season.

Processing is scheduled to start on September , the hygiene team will be called in the week before to prepare the factory for processing.





Maintenance Assistant – Hygiene Shift

Location : Whitianga, Waikato, New Zealand

Company are currently taking applications to join her Maintenance Team.

The role that are looking to fill is the Maintenance Assistant on our Hygiene Operations Shift, this role involves supporting the Lead Hygiene Shift Maintenance Assistant with scheduled strip down of machinery to allow cleaning then reassembly as well as general repairs and maintenance as required.

Applicants need to be reliable, pro-active, and available to work flexible hours, currently the Hygiene shift runs 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, when the factory is operating a Production Night Shift the Hygiene Shift moves to a 11:00 pm - 5:00 am timeslot.

Duties:

Good general engineering knowledge, trades person preferred
Welding skills, in particular welding of stainless-steel to food hygiene standards.
Sound fault finding and problem-solving skills.
Will perform hygiene activities as required.

Beneficial additional skills:

Electrical and/or refrigeration knowledge.
Familiar with food production facilities and good hygiene practices.
Familiar with good workplace Health & Safety practices.
Has experience with chemical handling and safe chemical use.
Food Safety, Chemical Handling and Forklift training will be provided as part of this role.





Process worker

Location: Whitianga, Waikato, New Zealand 

Category : Production

Duties:

This Position covers all seasonal mussel processing positions.  Tasks are mainly related to:
mussel grading, 
opening (shucking), 
inspection, 
packing and factory cleaning/preparation.

There are 3 shifts available to work on: Processing Day shift (6:00am - 3:00pm); Processing Night shift (3:30pm - 12:30am); Hygiene (cleaning) shift (12:00am - 5:00am).  The processing shifts run Monday to Friday, the hygiene shift runs Tuesday to Saturday.

Processing shifts consist of three sub-shifts of 2h40min each, with 30min breaks between.   

Tasks generally involve standing at a work station for this time and consist of repetitive movements.   

Other tasks may involve some heavy lifting.  (Appropriate protective equipment is supplied to employees.)
The working environment may be noisy/hot/cold/humid, depending on the task and location within the factory, with the possibility of exposure to chemicals and/or potential allergens e.g. mussel juice.

The processing season generally runs from October to July but start and finish dates vary from season to season, depending on when the mussels are in suitable condition for processing.





Process worker (returning)

This position is for returning employees who wish to join the processing staff for the 2019-2020 season.

We intend to start the processing season on  September .

Reinductions for returning employees are on Thursday 12 to Friday 13 September.
