Seafood Processor (Shore Plant - Pacific Star)

Overview:
This job requires working constantly with hands, some heavy lifting, and standing for long periods of time. Employee must work quickly in order to meet production deadlines and shall have the ability to understand and follow instructions and safety rules. The work environment can be very wet, and cold.
Nature of Work:
Seafood processors perform a variety of tasks that can include anything from sorting, cutting and cleaning, grading to cleanup. Most of the work is repetitive and tedious. There are a variety of jobs, some work can be very strenuous such as stacking 50 lb cases of frozen product, pushing freezer racks or carts of salmon. Working conditions vary with the assignment, but are generally wet, cold and noisy. Working in a processing plant is not an experience for everyone, and everyone should understand their limitations. If you have any doubts at all, it is in your best interest not to apply for this type of work. People with back or wrist problems should consider employment in another industry.
Hours of Work:
Hours and days of work are entirely dependent upon the size of the fish run which is nearly impossible to predict. While we can't guarantee any definite number of hours, a work week can be up to seven days. A workday can run anywhere from nothing to more than sixteen hours per day. You must be ready and able to work all hours assigned. Meal periods and breaks must be taken as scheduled.
Living Conditions:
Room & board provided. Housing is dormitory style. Payroll deduct $5 per hot meal.
Public limited WiFi available.
Transportation from point of hire is provided.

Sanitation Worker
Duties include cleaning and sanitizing all production machinery and equipment throughout plant including conveyor belts, screens, filters, fryers, pipes, walls, totes, rollers, tables, and freezers, and ensure proper cleaning procedures are followed.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Able to work overtime and weekends
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
• Work as part of a team and individually to complete tasks
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to lift and or move up to 50lbs frequently
• Previous sanitation experience is a plus
• Previous food manufacturing experience is a plus
• Must be reliable, dependable, and hardworking
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors/leads
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions; extreme cold and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
