We are located near Kurow in North Otago, a central location of the South Island. We milk 2300 – 2400 cows on a 622ha dairy platform through two 60 bale Waikato sheds. We have 200 dry cows all season and 600 calves on farm until December. The dairy platform is supported by 620ha of hill block and 142ha of flat run off. The farm is fully irrigated with 10 pivots, 4 linears and K line. My team consists of 8 dairy staff (4 per shed), 1 tractor driver and myself the Manager. There are also two other staff members that help with the support land.

We are on the look out for one to two people to assist with the day to day jobs of running a New Zealand dairy farm.
We are located on 600ha of beautiful farm land just 50min from the Dunedin airport. On farm we have numberous duck ponds and over 1000 trees making for some breath taking scenary. The farm comprises of 750 milking cows, a bull team, dry stock cows and grain growing. Our dairy cows are housed inside over the winter in two cow motels, keeping them safe, warm and dry.
You would be inolved with the day to day jobs on farm including looking after the calves as well as assisiting with the maintenance of the farm eg. gardening, cleaning etc. Every day is different so there is always something to get inolved with.
We are looking for people who love the outdoors, arent afraid of hard work and are easy going and good to get along with.
Being an animal lover is a must because as well as the cows we have two pet sheep, two working dogs and three cats.
Pay will be neogitable dependent on experience and the number of hours worked each day. We also expect that you will particiate in the home envrionment too above and beyond the farm work - eg cleaning up after yourself, dishes.
The accommodaiton is shared with myself and my husband and our three cats. You will have a bedroom with heater and own bathroom and are more than welcome to share meals with us.

We're looking for someone or a couple to join our team of dairy farmers in Kurow North Otago. We have a herd of 700 cows and we milk them twice a day through a 50 bale rotary shed.
The farm is in a great location just 2.5 hours to wanaka, 3 hours to Christchurch, 2 Hours to Dunedin. We live right beside the Waitaki River so there is hunting and fishing a plenty with the mackenzie lakes an hour up the road.
You dont need experience but a little bit is preferred esspeically if you can ride motorbikes and have milked a cow or two before. The most important thing is you come with a positive attitude everyday, the hours are long but its great fun if you have the right attitude.
You will be provided accommodation most likely will be shared with other backpackers. You will ideally have your own set of wheeles so you can get out and see NZ on your days off. We have a car that can be used but its best you have your own freedom.

We run 9 Pivots and 4 hard hose guns and sprinklers. We also make all our own silage on farm as well. As you can see there is a variety of work including tractor, truck and some digger work for a person who is passionate about the dairy industry.
