Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring a clean and well maintained building and grounds:
Heavy and periodic cleaning including vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting and cleaning & disinfecting bathrooms; washing windows; collecting and disposing of garbage; washing walls, halls and stairwells; cleaning kitchenettes; and sanitizing soiled linen areas, drainage and garbage areas. Daily cleaning of Individuals' bedrooms including mopping, dusting, surfacing cleaning. etc. 

Lifting and moving furniture and equipment, garbage removal, cleaning of Individual assisted living equipment (wheelchairs/feeding polls) and routine maintenance such as washing light fixtures.

Major cleaning in kitchen and/or dining rooms. 

Efficient and effective movement of Individuals:
Incumbent may have some Porter duties involving assisting with the physical movement of Individuals as required from time to time within the facility. 

Adequate stock of supplies in all areas of facility:
Restocking of items within building. 

Safe building and grounds:
Notify supervisor of health and safety concerns or issues. 

Complete heavy cleaning and minor maintenance requirements. 

Qualifications 
High school education and at least 6 months related experience in industrial cleaning and the use of cleaning materials 

Ability to perform routine maintenance 

WHIMIS certification is required 

Valid Class 5 Driver's license is preferred 

Special Requirement: Physically able to perform heavy manual duties.

• Sweeping and mopping by ensuring that floors are kept free of debris and sanitary
• Operating the Pushcart in order to exchange garbage and recycling receptacles within assignedarea including depositing recyclable products in recycling compound
• Maintaining a standard cleanliness in the washroom assigned; refilling supplies such as toilet paper and hand towels; exchanging garbage; sweeping floors, cleaning toilets, counters, sinks and mirrors;
• Trouble shoot stage 1 toilet issues (i.e. remove debris from clogged toilets with proper PPE)

Required Skills
• Ability to stand, walk and work for extended periods of times
• Able to work in the outdoors; walk to and from assigned area (up to 1000m)
