Salary(s): PK2 $1,585.60 - $1,867.20 bi-weekly

The Parks and Regional Services Division of Manitoba Sustainalbe Development is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Park Works Supervisor 2 (PK2) based out of Swan River, Manitoba. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Must possess and maintain a valid Full Stage Manitoba Class 5 driver's licence and be willing and able to acquire and maintain a valid full stage Manitoba Class 3 driver's licence with air brake endorsement within one (1) year of the employment start date
Must have Class 1 Water Treatment , Distribution and Small Wastewater Works Certification or be willing and able to acquire and maintain certification within three (3) years of the employment start date. Grade 12 education or GED diploma as it is pre-requisite for obtaining certification

Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position which may include occasional lifting of light and heavy items, bending, reaching, standing for long periods of time.Must be able to wear personnel protective equipment as/when required
Must be ready, willing and able to work extended hours and/or be called out evenings/weekends/ statutory holidays as well as work in other outlying areas in the Region
Qualifications:
Essential:
Experience in the supervision of construction projects and maintenance of facilities
Experience supervising staff including providing training, guidance and direction
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cooperate and effectively work with staff, the general public and stakeholders
Experience organizing and planning and prioritizing a complex and changing workload
Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions
Experience in project management including cost estimating, financial control, purchasing and inventory management
Strong verbal communication
Strong written communication skills including the ability to prepare memos and other written documents
Experience applying/implementing workplace safety and health policies and procedures
Experience operating, maintaining and repairing maintenance equipment( such as trucks, trailers, tractors, loaders, mowers, ATV/UTV and other heavy equipment.)
Desired:
Experience in the treatment and distribution of potable water and collection and treatment of wastewater
Ability to read blue prints or plan drawings
Duties:
Working under the direction of the Park Works Supervisor 3 (PK3), the incumbent will assist in the planning, coordination, implementation and supervision of maintenance, operations and construction activities within the Mountain District made up of Whitefish Lake, North Steeprock Lake, Bell Lake and Primrose Provincial Parks along with Red Deer and Overflowing Lake waysides in the Porcupine Provincial Forest as well as Wellman Lake, East/West Blue Lakes, Cache Lake, Childs Lake and Singush Lake in the Duck Mountain Provincial Park. The incumbent responsibilities may include assuming full responsiblity in the absence of the Park Works Supervisor (PK3) operation/maintenance of 530 transient and seasonal campsites found within 8 campgrounds, 4 cottage sub-divisions comprised of over 260 cottages, operation/maintenance of yurts, water & sewer systems, garbage/ recycling programs, buildings, roads, a shop for minor mechanical repairs and carpentry projects, winter/summer recreation areas which include snowmobile, x-country ski and ATV/UTV trails, hiking trails, canoe routes, beaches, day/group use areas, boat launches, and backcountry.
