Romania has a population of about 19.41 million. Romania is the sixth largest city in the European Union. Romania is ranked 12th as the largest European country with an area of 238,400 square kilometres, the capital Bucharest is the largest city in Romania.

Throughout the year the climate of Romania is considered moderate, as the country lies at the intersection of central, eastern and southeastern Europe. Romania is one of the southeastern European countries. Romania is to the north and north-east, in the vicinity of Ukraine and Moldova, to the south are Bulgaria and to the west by Hungary and Serbia.

Romania is a southeastern European country known for the forested region of Transylvania, ringed by the Carpathian Mountains. Its preserved medieval towns include Sighişoara, and there are many fortified churches and castles, notably clifftop Bran Castle, long associated with the Dracula legend. Bucharest, the country’s capital, is the site of the gigantic, Communist-era Palatul Parlamentului government building.

Work in Romania

To work in Romania it must have a work permit. These laws are similar to the laws of all European Union countries where after getting a work permit, citizens from outside the European Union can obtain a long-term visa for business and work purposes.

The Romanian government has its reliance on the quota system, which regulates a number of work permits that are granted to foreign employees every year and from it can limit or increase job opportunities.

In most cases, to work in this country the work permit must be requested by the company in Romania and the employer must prove that the applicant is qualified and has sufficient work experience in the field in which he worked.

The employer must also have all of the applicant's documentation as this process can last several weeks.

After a migrant gets a work permit, he can apply for a temporary work visa from the Romanian embassy in his country.

Working in Romania and obtaining temporary residence

After obtaining work in Romania and taking a period of time to live within the country, the applicant for obtaining temporary residence must register with the Romanian Ministry of Tax to receive the cif identification financial certificate.

- An applicant can obtain a temporary residence document through a work visa that is valid for at least one year. Therefore, every person working in Romania must extend the residence permit 30 days before the end of the stay.

- To obtain residency for accompanying persons and family members, they must apply for an individual visa. Also, it is worth noting that accompanying persons will not be allowed to work in Romania and if they want to work, they must obtain a work permit.
