As a Public Relations & Communications Specialist, your role will entail two main functions:

generating earned media through public relations, and managing cross-functional internal communications. Our success comes from word of mouth marketing, not paid media advertising. You will manage the marketing calendar for Portillo’s, and facilitate all incoming media requests. You will write and distribute our press releases. With our restaurant managers,

you will coordinate all of our media events, and you will serve as on-air spokesperson as necessary. You will manage our influencer marketing program and develop events to generate publicity.

You’re a different kind of marketer. You are likely a follower of Andy Sernovitz and have read his book, Word of Mouth Marketing. You probably read Seth Godin’s blog and look for opportunities to ship your work. But more than anything else, you love Portillo’s and want to help the brand grow.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Manage internal communications, working across multiple departments.

Facilitate all incoming media inquiries and develop relationships with media representatives

Maintain the Portillo’s online press room.

Coordinate media interviews, influencer visits, film crews, and onsite media events.

Write and distribute press releases, media alerts and individual pitches.

Manage day-to-day relationship with PR agency for New Restaurant Opening initiatives.

Track print, broadcast, and online coverage to showcase PR-led initiatives and share

with internal stakeholders.
Manage our marketing calendar and serve as chief communicator with field teams on upcoming marketing calendar.
Manage PR resources to engage with our fans and show them how Portillo’s is the greatest restaurant in the world.
Proactively conduct media outreach for limited time offers, National Day events, and other opportunities to make headlines.
Coordinate press events for new store openings and serve as spokesperson as necessary.
Manage the influencer marketing program and Backstage Bites program.
Oversee crisis communication planning.
Other duties as assigned by the Senior Marketing Manager.

 POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Experienced and skilled marketer with a minimum of 5 years professional experience.

Consumer-focused media relations or communications experience preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related major.

Outstanding writing skills. We will ask to see two writing samples.

Experience working with an external PR firm.

Exceptional communication and organization skills.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically and successfully execute tactics.

Proven self-starter who sets aggressive plans and consistently meets the challenge.

Experience with Cision, PR Newswire, or related services.

A desire for constant improvement and continued learning in the field of marketing.

A team player with the ability to be a contributing, proactive, and positive member of the

Marketing team.

The Property/Facilities Administrator is responsible for assisting in all areas defined as a part of the Property/Facilities Administrator job description. The Property/Facilities Administrator will ensure a high level of professionalism and foster positive relationships with vendors and clients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide full administrative support, including phone support, typing, reports, filing and distribution of correspondence.
Ensure all property files are prepared and maintained in an orderly and logical manner, including leases and contracts
Prepare and coordinate bid proposals, service contracts and approved invoices. Assist in bidding process and procedures.
Obtain aging report for management and follow up on all facilities and development check lists.
Ensure invoices are processed in accounting with appropriate back-up and according to established procedures
Oversee maintenance of work order and purchase order systems
Responsible for aspects of development and maintenance of a comprehensive service handbook for all NRO.
Ensure Certificates of Insurance for vendors are up to date
Promote and foster positive relationships with managers and vendors and track service calls as required
Assist supervisor with aspects of annual budgets preparation and monthly financial reports
Process management and maintenance staff hours, vendor bill back invoices through accounting, expense reports, and check requests for review and approval
Participates in performance oversight of all service contractors including resourcing vendors, allocating bids and providing analysis with recommendations as necessary.
