We grow wheat, barley, rapeseed, and sugar beet. We also buy and sell straw and offer our services to other growers for contract.
The Straw Chaser Driver is responsible for operating a Fastrac 2170 & Heath Super Chaser combination during the harvest period. Other responsibilities may include helping with hedge cutting, cultivations and other regular tasks, including machinery and other estate maintenance, as required.
Our operation requires that the jobholder be flexible, self-motivated and prepared to put in regular overtime during our busiest period. Our customers expect our Chaser Driver to have good record keeping and people skills. Good hands on workshop/maintenance skills are essential, as is the ability to work alone or in a team. Experience of operating heavy machinery is essential, ideally in an agricultural environment. The jobholder must hold a valid driving licence (UK or equivalent overseas entitlement). Experience of straw baling work, operating a tractor mounted hedge cutter and cultivation equipment is desirable but full training will be given.
