Key Responsibilities
Clean and tidy hotel public areas to exacting five-star standards according to a strict schedule:
Mop, machine wash, dust, wax and strip hard floors
Vacuum carpet and spot clean lobby carpet daily
Collect/dump rubbish
Dust mirrors and glass, polish metals, and shampoo upholstered furniture
Operate floor and table polishers, sweepers, scrubbers and pressure washers
Empty and clean ashtrays
Clean guest elevators and service staircases
Deliver goods as requested
Report daily progress to Supervisor
Report maintenance issues and equipment defects to Supervisor:
Damaged carpets
Out of order machines – report and take to the Public Area office for repairs
Fused bulbs or blocked basins in the washrooms
Periodically deep-clean public toilets and offices, dust ceilings, air ducts and other hard to reach places and fixtures
Regularly check ballroom and shopping arcade for spot cleaning and shampooing needs
Maintain cleaning equipment (e.g. vacuum cleaners, mops) and return in good condition at the end of the shift
Report ‘lost and found’ items and turn over to the Supervisor
Act as toilet or cloakroom attendant when required
Relocate and rearrange furniture as directed
Know and understand all the resort’s facilities and services
Assist and perform duties assigned by the Supervisor

Job Description
Job Purpose: Support the Supervisor with the daily operations of the Public Area Department, guiding and monitoring Cleaners. Motivate Team Members to exceed guests’ expectations by ensuring all public areas are clean, tidy, safe, well-maintained and well-presented.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the daily operations management of the Public Area Department
Assign jobs to Cleaners and Public Area staff and supervise and monitor cleanliness, progress and team performance
Conduct daily inspections of all public areas (casino, restrooms, lobbies, hallways, stairways, offices, grounds, shopping arcades, Rotunda, banquet areas, function and meeting rooms) and execute correction action if needed
Monitor quality control mechanisms, including health and safety, cleaning and maintenance, service standards, use of cleaning chemicals, equipment maintenance and handling
Maintain a handover logbook to record necessary follow-ups for the incoming shift
Report unusual activities and health and safety issues immediately
Note all complaints, unusual activities and Team Member issues in a logbook
Report breakages and losses
Raise work orders for any repairs and maintenance required, liaise with Property Operations and report issues to the Assistant Manager and Manager
Liaise with F&B outlet Managers to arrange a cleaning schedule for restaurants and bars
Supervise periodic deep cleaning, painting, chandelier cleaning, marble restoration and carpet shampooing
Record inventory and consumptions and order cleaning supplies when required
Monitor the cleanliness and hygiene of operating equipment and staff areas
Issue and collect master keys and communication devices to Cleaners
Assist in administration for work/job schedules, payroll and time sheets
Standby in case of emergency
Continuously improve health and safety standards
Prepare regular reports for management
Assist and perform duties assigned by the Assistant Manager and assume responsibilities in the Assistant Manager’s absence
Competencies and Requirements
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a large five-star hotel
Knowledge/Certificates: Knowledge of cleaning activities, tools and detergents; hard and soft floor care and equipment operation; use of chemicals and machinery operation
Education: Secondary school diploma or above
Language Abilities: Fair English, Cantonese and Mandarin
