+ Acquisitions and Development Editor

The Water Environment Federation is seeking an Acquisitions and Development Editor to manage acquisitions and publication development at WEF.

Principal Functions:
Provides management for acquisitions and publications according to Technical Practice Committee and/or WEF established procedures.
Prepares and evaluates publication proposals and business plans.
Manages contractors in editing, proofreading, and preparing technical publications.
Constructs final documents for production and publication.
Researches industry trends and recommends new publication topics and formats.
Collaborates with Marketing and Production groups to meet annual goals and deadlines, and provide information for campaigns and product descriptions.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science or Arts
5+ years publishing, with a record of successful acquisitions experience
Strong customer service orientation
Excellent organizational skills, with capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize effectively
Computer literate with Word and Web site proficiency
Strong initiative, with ability to work independently, anticipate and troubleshoot problems, and meet deadlines
Exceptional editorial skills
Good verbal and written communication skills

This person will work primarily in an office environment using standard office equipment.

+ Program Manager, National Green Infrastructure Certification Program


WEF is seeking a positive, energetic team player to strategize and execute the National Green Infrastructure Certification Program. Initiated under the leadership of the Water Environment Federation and DC Water, the National Green Infrastructure Certification Program (NGICP) sets national certification standards for green infrastructure (GI) construction, inspection, and maintenance workers. Designed to meet international best practice standards, the certification advances the establishment of sustainable communities by promoting GI as an environmentally and economically beneficial stormwater management option, supporting the development of proficient green workforces, and establishing a career path for skilled GI workers. 

This position will be the main spokesperson to internal and external audiences. The program manager is responsible for collaborating with several internal WEF groups, including Marketing, Finance, and Technical Programs, as well as outside partners, vendors, and collaborators to sustain and grow the program.

Key Responsibilities:

Ongoing supervision of program maintenance and operations.
Recruiting and confirming program partners, vendors, & contractors.
Assessing and evaluating the program design and implementation for quality control and continued improvement.
Coordination with internal leadership and external advisory committees.
Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in a technical field such as science, engineering, landscaping, or natural resource management.
Solid communications skills, as well as a demonstrated understanding of project management execution and workflow.
Experience leading complex programs with multiple stakeholders in a high-intensity environment, especially programs focused on certification, human capital, and/or workforce development.
Ancillary computer competencies include familiarity with online training, virtual classrooms, computer-based testing, and/or constituent databases.
Must also have excellent interpersonal skills and supervisory experience, and the ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.
Water, stormwater, and/or landscaping sector experience extremely helpful.
