With a turnover of 408 million euros and a total of 239,000 guests in 2006, Aida Cruises is the German market’s leading cruise company. A total of four AIDA ships are presently in service: AIDAcara, AIDAvita, AIDAaura, AIDAdiva, with a total capacity of 5,800 guests (cabins with double occupancy). The Meyer shipyard in Germany has been commissioned to build four further ships for delivery in 2008, 2009 and 2010, each with a capacity for 2,050 guests.AIDA ships are dedicated to the German-speaking market and are renowned for their young style and casual service. As of 11th March 2007, AIDA Cruises is the German Branch of Società di Crociere Mercurio S.r.l.
AIDA Cruises currently employs a total of approx. 2,400 staff from 25 countries, 400 of them land based and appr. 2,000 on board the ships.
