Our client is a general contractor seeking motivated Mechanical Project Manager for large projects ($40M+)in Calgary and Vancouver.

Overall Project delivery from cradle to grave including accountability for the Projects profitabilityConstant forecasting of the Project’s progress both financially (variances to budget) and operationally (meeting construction schedule deliverables). This includes accountability for mitigation of any financial or operational riskEnsuring all Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental regulations including Worksafe and Employment Standards are met or exceededResponsible for all onsite labour coordination including management of subcontractorsPrepare and issue subcontractor agreements and/or purchase orders including reconciling revised contract amountsResponsible for Equipment and Material procurement including price negotiation with vendors and meeting scheduled delivery dates as per construction schedulePrepares and maintains all progress billing applications, schedule of values, change orders logs and follows up on pending changes as well as outstanding Accounts ReceivableSolve all deficiencies within time requirements set out in the Project ContractAbility to make decisions independently, timely, and within project scopeQualifications
10+ years in the mechanical construction industry5+ years Project Management in Mechanical Construction or Design experience working with projects in excess of $10MPreference will be given to candidates with a Professional Engineering degree (P.Eng) or other technical certification who have their Gold Seal Certification (GSC) or working towards their GSC.PMP designation an assetAbility to plan and manage a project scheduleProven contract negotiation and management skillsLeadership and ability to work in a team, coaching skills, training and helping project coordinatorsAbility to anticipate complications and solve them in a time and cost effective manner
