In 2001, armed with the experience gained from the involvement in developing electronic control systems and extensive field experience, ARi’s founder, Ravi Gudapati, co-founded Indus Research and Development Inc. (IRAD). With long standing relationships in place and a thorough understanding of the application of engines and the rigorous conditions they operate, IRAD team was able to secure multiple development projects and establish an offshore delivery center in Hyderabad, India.

In 2006, Mr. Gudapati spun off IRAD to Automotive Robotics Inc. (ARi) with an aspiration to achieve a vision beyond IRAD. His dream to build a world-class engine testing facility from concept to reality fueled the passion for the next venture. With a simple test facility in a leased warehouse space accompanied by a small team of experienced engineers, mechanics and machine shop technicians, the team proved its model taking it from concept to reality. From the success of that small project, it encouraged him to take his dream full scale.
In the summer of 2008, ARi’s effort to build a world class engine testing facility was realized. Located in East Peoria, Illinois, ARi’s 40,800 square foot space boasts a full-service, state of the art facility equipped with a full in-house mechanic and machine shop, complete with seven large engine test cells located on six acres.
